Writing the residency personal statement can be really hard. Join EMP residency advisors Dr. Dylan Eiger and Dr. Emily Zielinski in a targeted session on essay writing. We'll review tips about how to get your personal statement started efficiently and overcome writer's block, how to avoid common mistakes, and develop a hook to get your readers interested.
11 - 11:25 AM | Meaningful Experiences and Preferences Signaling
The Experiences section of the residency application has changed. Join Dr. Dylan Eiger and Dr. Sarah Godfrey as they review how to showcase your most meaningful and impactful experiences. They'll also cover the basics of preference signaling for participating specialties.

Just because your application isn't perfect doesn't mean that you should be discouraged. EMP residency advisors Dr. James Boothe and Dr. Sarah Godfrey will help you understand techniques for addressing poor performance and test scores, leave of absence, and other unusual circumstances. You'll learn how to optimally present your journey to becoming a physician.

Are you applying to a U.S. residency program as an international medical graduate (IMG)? You aren't alone. 1 in 4 physicians in the U.S. are IMGs. Join EMP advisors Dr. Alina Khil and Dr. Marcel Brus-Ramer as they review the basic requirements for IMGs and how they differ from U.S. medical graduates. You'll also learn which factors are most important to residency programs as they review applications from IMGs.
